Realizations through Poetry

So the notebook that I found last week had these two poems in it. Mind you the font was blue pen and extremely sharp lettering.

Start from the beginning
Express the truth
Learn for the future, to appreciate
Confiscate the knowledge, to excel
In life not weight In purchase
Happiness inside your head
With a Power Higher than any
Drug could ever lift you
The key lies within
A heart which can begin
to open the destruction
which was caused by the eruption

I'm pretty sure that I was planning on continuing that one. Anyway, the next page was this:

Troubles are what we make them
Reality is consciousness
not too far to grasp
To wake up the mind and soul
Broaden every sense and feeling
To indulge not depress
Learn as individuals to live as a group
Love as a whole to believe
There IS A PURPOSE
For us All
Wake up in today and breath
Enjoy the freedoms life has for the taking
Everyday is what you make of it
Troubles cloud the mind which
Bruise the Soul
for NO good reason
Why not choose happiness
Become grateful for your chance
To vibrate morals and truth
Turn it over, release the pressure
Don't fear the loneliness that lies
in the Bottomless pit of self pity
Embrace the Atmosphere of
Unconditional love
which is the only constant of creation

I wish that I dated these, but it is safe to say that it was early fall of 2006. I love keeping journals so that when I look back and read what was so clear to me then, I can see how I've neglected to acknowledge those lessons. That is another reason I journal, so I can remember what I swore to never forget. These two sound trippy, but I can assure you that absolutely NO mind altering drugs were in my system at this point.
